Centennial Song Competition

Guidelines

Contestants must be bonafide SLU Students, Alumni, Employees or Faculty

Registration forms available at the SLU President's Office

Song must be in english, accompanied and arranged for solo male or female voice and must be exceed a running time of 4 to 6 minutes including intro $ extra.

Theme: Light that transforms

Interpreter must be within the university, an alumnus an employee or a member of the faculty.

Song must be accompanied by either live or taped music.

Submission

Duly accomplished registration form

Notation of the song (when entry enters the Final 10)

Recording of the song in CD with the titile of the song, lyricisty and composer labeled on the CD.

Three (3) copies of the sheets

Short write-up of the lyricist/composer

No notation of the accompaniment neeeded

Dealine is on April 18, 2008

Criteria for Judging

Lyrical Content (Theme): 35%

Musical Content (Melody & Rhythm, Technicals, Musical Score): 35%

Interpretation (Voice Quality, Easy to Sing): 20%

Popular Appeal: 10%

Prizes

1st Place: P 10,000

2nd Place: P 8,000

3nd Place: P 5,000

4th Place: P 1,000
