Requirements for Admission/Procedure for Enrolment 

Basic Requirements:

For Master's: Baccalaureate degree from an institution of recognized standing

For Doctorate: Mater's degree with an overall grade of cum laude or its equivalent from an institution of recognized standing.

 

Submit photocopy of certified true copy of transcript of records for evaluation by the GPC. Another copy will be required by the Registrar's Office upon enrolment.

 

If grades are acceptable (80-85 and above):

  • Personal Interview by the Graduate Programs Coordinator (GPC).
    for SPED applicants: interview will be conducted by MR. RAUL TAMCO
  • Graduate Program Entrance Examination (GPEE) to be given by the SLU-Guidance Center. If the obtained scores in the GPEE are: General CEEB score is 400 and above, and Area CEEB score is 400 and above, student will be considered for admission by the Admissions Office (SAO).

If admitted, the student submits 1 copy of 2x2 ID picture and accomplish the Personal Data Form and may proceed with the regular procedures of enrolment:

 

Accomplishment of BLUE REGISTRATION FORM & RESEARCH JOURNAL FORM

 

For Non-Education Graduates:

Must have 15 units of basic Education Subjects, which may be taken simultaneously with Graduate Subjects.

 

For Old Students:

Update records before filling-up the BLUE FORM

 

For Thesis/Dissertation Writers:

Fill-up the MONITORING FORM together with the BLUE FORM

 

For SLU Employees:

Secure a PERMIT TO ENROL from your respective Head of Office. (Forms are available the COE Graduate Programs Office)

 

NOTE:

 

English/Filipino Proficiency. "If deemed necessary, the applicant may be first required to complete at least nine (9) units or 150 hours of English before being allowed to formally take courses in the graduate program. Ditto for Filipino. The GPC's can eventually come up with a list of recommended tutors/agencies for supplementary/remedial English/Filipino. (Policies and Guidelines, #10)

 

Transferees. " Units earned by a transferee from a non-recognized school shall not be credited. Units earned from an institution of recognized standing may be credited, but only up to a maximum of six (6) units in the Masteral level and nine (9) units in the doctoral, and without prejudice to other stipulations that the University may deem necessary. Depending upon the circumstances, transferees may have to repeat in SLU some of the courses they have already taken in the said institution(s) and/or take additional courses in SLU." Cross-Enrolment. "For meritorious cases, cross-enrolment in another institution of recognized standing may be allowed, subject to the following:

 

a. the student shall present a formal request, for endorsement by the GPC and approval by the College Dean;

 

b. the student shall have already successfully completed, in SLU, at least twelve (12) units in the masteral level or at least twenty-four (24) units in the doctoral level;

 

c. the subjects for cross-enrolment shall not exceed a combined total of six (6) units for the master's degree and nine (9) units for the doctoral level; and

 

d. the said subjects are substantially the same as those offered in SLU. (Policies and Guidelines, #14)
