August 22. "Becoming a missionary." |
|
Becoming a missionary is definitely concerned with “pouring new wine into fresh wineskins,” (cf. Matt. 9: 17), that is, with working out new mission paradigms. For the work of salvation requires discerning, developing and putting in effective use God-given talents for the well-being of society. As Th. Verbist himself makes very clear, thus: “To establish our work on solid foundations, an indispensable condition is, with all due deference, to create reliable resources for ourselves.”
