Medical Outreach Missions Foundation, Inc. (MOMFI)

The SLU-Vicariate of Mt. Province Medical Outreach Missions Foundation, Inc. (MOMFI) is envisioned as an exemplary missionary and innovative guild in reaching out to the most marginalized population and in developing its ardent volunteers empowered by the MOMFI spirit and who are altruistic, assiduous and trustworthy.

Dr. Romeo O. Abiog and Dr. Leovigildo B. Domingo, with the support of SLU and the Vicariates of the Mt. Provinces organized the MOMFI on March 7, 1985. It is a charitable, non-stock, non-profit organization which is designed to help address the health problems of the Cordillera Region.

Objectives

Promote health by educating the rural populace on matters pertaining to Primary Health Care, Maternal & Child Care, Environmental Sanitation, Nutrition, and Personal Hygiene

Provide the basic knowledge, skills and application of Primary Health Care by giving Health Education and Training courses

Impart guided learning experience for the medical and allied health professions to acquaint them with the social and health conditions in the rural areas and the depressed regions of the Cordillera (and other parts of Northern Luzon).

Conduct, promote and support medical research and publications in the control of Iodine Deficiency Disorders, malaria, cancer and other local health problems.
