Student Financial Assistance and Scholarships
A very important student service that Saint Louis renders is the financial aid it extends to many of its students in their school fees. Despite the low cost of school fees, we welcome in the University a considerable number of students whom we think deserve a bright future but are not financially capable of having a college education. Saint Louis aids them through some grants and benefits.
Saint Louis grants financial assistance to at least 25 percent of its college student population or roughly to 7,000 students. Studies show that among those receiving financial grants in the University, 85 percent of them receive assistance from or through Saint Louis. The remaining 15 percent receive it from government grants.
Saint Louis' financial assistance comes in several forms:
entrance grants - for incoming freshmen who graduated with honors in high school
academic grants - for students excelling in their academics
the SLU Educational Benefits Program - for direct dependents of SLU employees
activity grants - for those involved in particular activities at SLU like athletics, band, Glee Club, Dance Troupe, etc.
grants to working students who offer services in some University offices, and
discounts given by the University to siblings studying at the same time in the university.
