In line with its commitment to fostering excellence, Saint Louis University (SLU) hosted the orientation and release of a Notice of Award (NOA) for the new student-grantees of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – UniFAST Unit on 5 June 2025 at the Rev. Fr. Theophile Verbist Hall.
The TDP is a scholarship program under the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP-TES) that assists qualified and eligible Filipino students in accessing quality higher education. Headed by SLU Scholarship Programs Coordinator Mr. Elmer A. Benito, MPA, and through the Office of Global Relations and Alumni Affairs (OGRAA), this activity enlightened students on their benefits and responsibilities to fulfill as grantees.

CHED-UniFAST Unit Regional Coordinator, Ms. Ana Grace P. Salibad, led the orientation proper by providing a background of UniFAST and differentiating the various CHED programs from the TDP. Moreover, Ms. Salibad discussed the program’s beneficiaries, qualifications, and requirements for the scholarship grantees.
Afterward, a distribution and signing of the NOA was conducted to acknowledge that the student was officially granted the scholarship. Currently, there are a total of 670 TDP grantees enrolled in SLU.

Through such programs, the students are empowered to achieve their fullest potential with quality education. It is a reminder that SLU continues to partner with various entities to provide scholarships that support its students by improving their academic journey, instilling Christian values, and shaping their future for a better life.
The activity also served as a testament to SLU’s unwavering commitment to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) No. 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 17 (Partnerships for the goals).
