Saint Louis University (SLU) warmly welcomed Mr. Ryan Ingrassia, Director for Public Engagement of the United States Embassy in the Philippines, during a courtesy visit held on 13 August 2025 at the Administrative Center, Burgos Building, SLU Main Campus.
The delegation from the US Embassy engaged in meaningful discussions with the SLU administration, led by University President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM. Also present were Dr. Stephenie Busbus, Director of the Office of Global Relations, Alumni Affairs, and Scholarship Programs (OGRASP); Joey Gapasin, Director of SLU University Libraries; and Mrs. Michelle Ambloza, Coordinator of American Corner (AC) Baguio. Volunteers from the AC Student Associative Mobilization (SAM) program also attended.





The visit included a comprehensive tour of the SLU Museum for Igorot Culture and the Arts, followed by a visit to American Corner Baguio, 4th Floor, Charles Msgr. Vath Building, SLU Main Campus.



During the program, Mr. Ingrassia led a discussion with the SAM volunteers, sharing valuable insights, ideas, and experiences related to the university and the American Corner volunteer program. In turn, the AC Baguio volunteers sought Mr. Ingrassia’s advice on strategies to expand American Corner Baguio’s outreach both within and beyond the university campus.
Mr. Ingrassia expressed his gratitude to the volunteers for their dedication and invaluable contributions to American Corner Baguio, assuring them of the Embassy’s continued support for the program.


This visit highlighted SLU’s ongoing commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering meaningful collaboration with the U.S. Embassy to enhance educational and community engagement initiatives.
