The Louisian community came together for “From Starting Line to Storyline: Racing Toward a Brighter Future,” a book drive initiative spearheaded by the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Saint Louis University (JPIA–SLU). Held on 6 January 2026 at the Fr. Serafin Devesse Lobby, SLU Maryheights Campus, the event focused on collecting and distributing both new and pre-loved academic books to Management Accounting and Accountancy students, supporting their academic growth and fostering a culture of sharing within the Louisian community.

From 14 to 24 January 2026, JPIA conducted a donation drive that welcomed monetary contributions and second-hand books. These efforts enabled the organization to purchase new reference materials and redistribute donated books, ensuring students had access to high-quality academic resources.

The highlight of the activity was the distribution of newly purchased books alongside donated materials. Beneficiaries were able to select resources that best suited their academic needs, promoting personalized learning and maximizing the impact of the donations. The books provided included:
- Financial Accounting and Reporting 2
- Advanced Financial Accounting and Reporting Volume II by Castañeda, Chan, and Ramos
- Auditing & Assurance Concepts & Applications Part 1 by Asuncion, Ngina, and Escala
- Sustainability and Strategic Audit by Baldres, De Leon, Magadia, and Perlas

The beneficiaries of the book drive were: Jason Paul Salvador, Rudyard Neil Agustin, Deena Montemayor, Ysabella Kaye Asuncion, Gee Ann D. Ellasos, Khenna Pabrua, Dwayne Doctor, KC Cantorna, Nathaniel C. Malab, Raiza Marielle D. Isla, John Reinald Eria, Eusef Gulla, Victoria May Maquilan, Diana Eushabel Gonzales, Laikka Gwyneth Felix, Nikole Sara Toguinay.

This initiative was made possible through the generosity of JPIA donors, including Ms. Julia Sophia Pangilinan, Mr. Jerome Jolongbayan, Mrs. Maris Fides Bondoc, Namit Restaurant, Mr. Leangel Malabanan, and Mr. Jun Il Macario. Contributions of second-hand books were extended by Joshua Neil Tigas, Mr. Airixzel Lucero Rillera, Ms. Riciane Gail De Mesa, Ms. Diana Eushabel Gonzales, and the authors of the provided academic texts. Their collective support reflects a strong commitment to academic solidarity and the holistic development of JPIA students.

At its core, “From Starting Line to Storyline: Racing Toward a Brighter Future” aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by promoting access to learning resources that directly support students’ academic needs. The book drive helped ease financial constraints, enhanced students’ preparedness for classes and examinations, and encouraged continuous learning beyond the classroom. It also advanced SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals by fostering collaboration among students, faculty, donors, and the institution—demonstrating how collective action can create meaningful academic support systems that empower students to achieve excellence.

Through this initiative, JPIA–SLU reinforced its mission of academic support, student empowerment, and community collaboration, ensuring that Management Accounting and Accountancy students have access to the tools to write their own “storylines” toward success.
