SLU MEDICAL CLINIC SERVICES
ASSESSMENT
- Obtain medical history of students and employees
- Measure/monitor vital signs, height and weight
- Medical and Physical examination of students and employees
- Identification, Diagnosis and Treatment of illnesses
RESPONSE AND MANAGEMENT OF HEALTH CONCERNS
- Utilize existing health resources to provide appropriate care
- First Aid and emergency treatment
- Medical and Nursing Interventions
PROMOTIVE AND PREVENTIVE PROGRAMS
- Family Welfare Program
- Monthly inspection of school canteens and buildings; drinking fountains
- Identification of hazard/surveillance, early detection, Infection control, hygiene and sanitation
- Preventive Immunization program
CLIENT EDUCATION
- Health teaching and counseling
- Information dissemination; infographics; health advisories
- Conduct of seminars/webinars; first-aid training/basic life support
DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A HEALTH PLAN
- Plan and create health policies, goals and objectives for the university’s health concern
- (i.e. PTB, HIV/AIDS, Alcohol/Drugs/Substance Abuse, Hepa B, Mental Health)
- Maintain, evaluate and interpret cumulative health data to accommodate employees and students needs
DIAGNOSTIC TEST REFERRAL
- Initiate referral of patients for laboratory and diagnostic tests to further evaluate their medical condition
MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION
- Provide STARTER dose of medicines
- Vaccination Administration (Hepa A & B)
- Immunization; Administration of other injectable drugs (i.e. Penicillin G, Flu, Measles) provided with clearance/referral from attending physicians; vaccines care of personal account
DOCUMENTATION/ RECORDING/ REPORTING
- Safe-keeping of health records in accordance to the data privacy protection
- Issuance of medical clearance/certificate
- Verification of excuse letters/medical certificates issued by private physicians
