A virtual meeting was held on December 15, 2020 led by Mr. Andrew Macalma, Committee Chairperson, to address the committee’s decisions about the admission of students to the University in the upcoming registration.
Based on the meeting, the committee agreed on the pertinent points regarding admission and enrollment guidelines. The first agenda is the Second Semester Processing of Transfer Applicants subject to (1)admission policies and availability slots, (2)entry of irregular students, (3)subject loading, and (4)off-season subjects being offered. Furthermore, Mrs. Triceayn Marie Prestousa, Office of the Student Affair Dean, updated the guidelines concerning the inclusions for Transfer Applicants, that adds a requirement such as having course evaluation from previous schools, modifying GWA of SNS transferee, and starting applications.
The second agenda is for the Second Semester Processing of First-Year Student Applicants. The panel discussed (1)the SON and SNS application, (2)processing fees, and document requirements. It was advised that the processing of applications for first-year students begins on January 4, 2021. Thirdly, the committee discussed the Admission of First Year Students for Academic Years 2021 and 2022, as per the decision (1)the SLU-CEE for incoming first-year of A.Y 2021- 2022 is canceled due to health concerns and restrictions on the pandemic, (2)processing of applications for first-year students will still be determined upon consultation with Dr. Roberto M. Arguelles, VP for Academics, and also in consideration of the school calendar of college-bound graduating senior high school students. Moreover, admission details may be released by February 2021, while the published materials on the canceled SLU-CEE will be released this December 2020, while Mr. Macalma will make the guidelines.
Lastly, for the Second Semester Enrollment 2020-2021, there is still (1)no finalized date for the starting date of student enrollment of Second Semester, (2) students who stopped schooling for a year or more with SLU should process their Form A with URO by emailing readmission@slu.edu.ph on January 4, 2021, (3)once the School Dean signs the printed Forma A, it shall be sent to OSA for further processing for record check and permit to enroll. Once the student has OSA clearance, they will inform the School Dean’s Office so they can allow the student to undergo online enrollment in courses.
For other concerns, Mr. Andrew Macalma will seek updates from ERMCAA regarding the SLU brochure expected last November 2020 and the Promotional video expected this December 2020.
