On February 28, 2022, Saint Louis University received official information through email that the ANTENA partners chose Saint Louis University’s ANTENA In-Net logo entry as the final ANTENA In-Net logo. The winning logo entry was created by BA Communication fourth-year students Andrea Batan and Danna Dawn Dulay.
ANTENA members were invited to submit logo entries from January 28 to February 7 for the ANTENA In-Net, a project co-funded by the Erasmus Programme of the European Union, which aims to support HEIs in the Philippines in strengthening their capacities to update, implement and sustain their internationalization policies.
Among all logo entries, two were chosen for final selection by the ANTENA member universities. The final selection of the logo was then done through a survey given to the ANTENA members on the 3rd week of February. In the final selection process, Saint Louis University’s logo entry was selected as the new official logo of ANTENA IN-Net.
New ANTENA In-Net Logo: Symbolizing the Philippines as a Major Global Player in the Internationalization of Higher Education
Based on the logo contest guidelines, each entry should effectively portray ANTENA In-Net’s vision, mission, and activities. As a creative interpretation, digital artists Andrea Batan and Danna Dawn Dulay integrated key elements into the logo design: the globe composed of a network of linkages, the “Pillar of Knowledge,” and a vector image of the Philippines.
The globe’s image formed by a network of linkages represents the Philippines’ connection with other nations. This representation emphasizes how ANTENA stays true to its mission as an avenue and a beacon for collaboration among all other
universities, both in a national and international scale. The “Pillar of Knowledge” image symbolizes the distinctive value of higher education and research. According to Ms. Batan and Ms. Dulay, the new logo symbolizes the Philippines as a truly international environment and a major global player in the internationalization of higher education.
The significant contribution of Saint Louis University in creating the new official logo is a testament of how collaboration in internationalization strengthens the international community of higher education. ANTENA In- Net will indeed continue to strengthen and structure the collaboration between the Philippine universities in the field of internationalization for higher education and, more specifically, their research, training, networking, development of common strategies and projects, centralization and dissemination of information, useful contacts, and best practices.
