The Kaagabay Series Program of the Saint Louis University (SLU) Guidance Center embarked on a virtual lecture titled, “Nurturing the Nurturer: Self-Care in the Parenting Ministry,” from 13 August 2022 to 30 October 2022.
Marie Joy W. Cheong, a faculty member of the Department of Psychology, facilitated the lecture on how mental health is a fundamental part of our overall health and well-being. The licensed psychometrician and guidance counselor introduced practical ways to take good care of parents and caregivers for a more nurturing family and community. Moreover, these strategies can help them cope with life’s demands while maintaining a healthy life balance. The lecture equips parents and caregivers in helping their children develop social and emotional skills to grow as emotionally healthy adults.
In support of the CICM Advocacy for “Peace,” the activity provides parents and guardians the necessary tools and confidence they need to foster harmonious family relationships.
The lecture received positive feedback from the parent and caregiver attendees.
