In a significant educational gathering, delegates from the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines – Cordillera Administrative Region (CEAP-CAR) took part in a Productive Senior High Schools (SHS) Consultation Workshop: A Step Towards Quality Education held last 9 and 10 October 2023, at El Cielito Hotel, Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
Mrs. Evangelyn Wayagwag and Mr. Nelwyn Tejada were the representatives from Saint Louis University’s Basic Education School (SLU BEdS) SHSl, whereas Mrs. Lily Ferrer and Ms. Rian Dela Trinidad were the delegates from Center-High School Department of Saint Louis School, Inc. Meanwhile, Mr. Richard Bartolo was the representative of the Little Flower School of Abra.
This two-day consultation aimed to review the implementation of the SHS Program and provide a platform for private schools to voice their concerns, share good practices, and address issues with the Department of Education. The event’s significance was underscored by its alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 7, focusing on inclusive and equitable quality education, and the Justice and Peace component of CEAP’s JEEPGY, promoting justice, equity, ecology, peace, and global solidarity in education.
