Saint Louis University (SLU) celebrated Global Handwashing Day entitled Clean Hands are Within Reach following the activity spearheaded by the City Health Services Office (HSO) after the Ceremonial Signing of the Terms of Agreement and Pledge of Commitment last 18 and 28 November 2022.
Behavioral nudges on Hand Hygiene were provided by the City HSO to SLU and received by the Medical Clinic last 31 January 2023, and were distributed to different strategic sites within the campus last 17 March 2023 with the help of the CPMSD-SSD.
The nudges are randomly but regularly checked by the MEC staff every month, most likely during the canteen inspection. The City HSO also gave monitoring sheets as a guide and reminder for the continuous implementation of the university.
Hence, it promotes SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Global Handwashing Day is an international handwashing promotion campaign to motivate and mobilize people around the world to improve their hand-washing habits. Washing hands at critical points during the day and washing with soap and clean water are important.
