With the theme Access to Diabetes Care, Saint Louis University (SLU), Health Services Unit-Medical Clinic will conduct a free Urine Albumin-Creatinine Ratio (uACR) Assay using the Urine Analyzer machine from November 2023 to January 2024 in observation of the Diabetes Awareness Month in November.
The clinic will run a comprehensive approach to healthcare, including a screening test and the subsequent expert interpretation by HSU-MEC doctors. This program aims to ensure thorough and accurate assessments of individuals’ health status for proactive healthcare management and improved patient outcomes.
The uACR Assay is a urine analyzer diagnostic tool-based procedure to ascertain the likelihood of kidney damage, which can ultimately result in chronic kidney disease and kidney failure. It is also a collaboration under the family welfare program with the pharmaceutical sponsor, AstraZeneca.
This is open to all employees with any of the following:
- Diabetes
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- Obese
- Kidney Disease
- Personal history of heart and blood vessel disease
- Family history of kidney disease
