The focus group discussions’ aim was to gather input from key stakeholders on the challenges and issues encountered in implementing the protective writs over the years. Additionally, they have sought insights into the writs’ effectiveness and limitations. With that, the findings will be used by the Supreme Court En Banc to propose amendments for consideration.
The Dean of the School of Law (SOL), Atty. Yasmine Lee R. Tadeo, was a facilitator of the said focus group discussion with her expertise and experience on the subject matter, contributing greatly to the informed set of rules that aim to strengthen human rights protection.
These efforts done by SLU in collaboration with government organizations in addressing the challenges and propose solutions for the implementation of protective writs highlights the University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals #16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) and #17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
