From 2 to 4 November 2024, the Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI), together with the Rotary Club of San Fernando City North, medical professionals, and dedicated volunteers, fulfilled a three-day Medical and Surgical Mission across the municipalities of Santol and San Gabriel, La Union.
In these remote areas where healthcare access is limited, MOMFI provided free general consultations, minor surgeries, circumcisions, and other vital services, benefiting over 200 individuals. The first day focused on reaching residents of Santol, especially those from distant barangays, delivering care directly to their communities. The mission then moved to San Gabriel for Days 2 and 3, where volunteers collaborated to offer medical support, comfort, and hope to the local population.
This mission reflects MOMFI’s strong dedication to service, demonstrating how compassion and teamwork can overcome barriers to healthcare.
The mission’s impact aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), supporting improved health, equity in healthcare access, and collaborative community development.
