The Ranking Report by AppliedHE released on 19 November 2024 revealed that Saint Louis University (SLU) is the 23rd (65.96%) top-ranking private university in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region and ranked 4th among the listed Philippine universities in the 2025 AppliedHE Private University Ranking: ASEAN, with over 100 participating private higher education institutions (HEIs).
The AppliedHE Private University Ranking: ASEAN was structured with the goal of measuring the qualifications and competencies of private universities that assist students in decision-making and in expanding their horizons when it comes to choosing the right university to guide them in their higher education journey.
With the needs of the students as the main basis, the ranking has the following criteria: Teaching and Learning (40%), Employability (15%), Research (15%), Community Engagement (10%), Internationalization (10%), and Institutional Reputation (10%).
The AppliedHE Private University Ranking is a voluntary ranking system where universities are requested to submit data to run surveys and be able to produce the results with each qualified private university’s status. Mainly focused on teaching, learning, employability, and research in a broad sense, the ranking system has a specific methodology and data collection procedure to measure and determine its rankings.
