PROJECT DAILY BREAD: 14 years of delivering compassion wrapped in a warm lunch meal 

Project Daily Bread (PDB) has grown from a simple “what if we can solve a certain problem?” into a full-scale institutionalized initiative. It began with listening to students’ stories during counseling sessions and scholarship interviews, where a dismal reality emerged, many college students came to school on empty, aching stomachs. To cope, they resorted to cigarettes, instant snacks, candies, or even rice sprinkled with salt and boiled kangkong from a relative’s garden.

The Season of Creation 2025 concluded with a meaningful ecumenical service and forum held at the CRC Hall, Bishop’s House Compound, on 6 October 2025. A focal point of the event was a discussion on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can support the protection of Indigenous Peoples’ rights, facilitated by Saint Louis University’s (SLU) Chief Information Technology Officer and Data Protection Officer, Cecilia Mercado, PhD.

SAMCIS partners with East West Educational Specialist Inc. to strengthen student competencies through micro-credentials

The School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) of Saint Louis University (SLU) has officially entered into a partnership with East West Educational Specialist Inc. (EWESI) for the offering of micro-credentials and industry-based certifications to enhance the professional competencies of SAMCIS students and strengthen their readiness for the rapidly evolving global workforce.

SLU launches STAR Program

Resolute in implementing the 3-Year Sustainable Development Goals Plan of Saint Louis University (SLU), Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, university president, launched the STAR (School  Training for Advancement and Recalibration) Program. This flagship initiative aims to strengthen partnerships with Catholic schools in the region (Saint Theresita’s School of Kapangan, Kapangan, Benguet; San Alfonso High School, Sabangan, Mt. Province; and Saint Theresita’s School in Balbalan, Kalinga) in collaboration with higher education institutions.
