In celebration of the season of love, the Baguio Association of Government Grantees and Scholars – Saint Louis University (BAGGS) successfully held a three-day event titled Food and Fun Booth for Valentine’s Day from 13 to 15 February 2025, at the SLU parking space beside Water is Life. This vibrant and interactive initiative brought together scholars and students in a cheerful atmosphere that celebrated love, friendship, and togetherness. Designed to be a joyful break from the pressures of academics, the booth served as a gathering spot filled with delicious food, exciting games, and heartfelt laughter. It was a space where connections flourished, new friendships were made, and school spirit came alive.
With the active participation of both BAGGS officers and members, the booth featured a variety of treats and games tailored to engage students and passersby alike. From classic Filipino street snacks and homemade desserts to simple love-themed games like “palabunutan”, the event catered to different tastes and interests. The venue, adorned with red and pink hues, was transformed into a charming Valentine’s haven where participants could win small prizes, write heartfelt notes to friends, or simply enjoy a quick treat with classmates. The booth was open throughout the day, drawing in a steady crowd and maintaining a lively energy across all three days.

One of the highlights of the booth was the remarkable sense of community that it fostered. Attendees were not just consumers of snacks or participants in games—they became part of a shared experience that celebrated camaraderie and emotional well-being. Scholars found an avenue to unwind, express themselves, and engage with their peers in a more relaxed and festive setting. Many expressed how refreshing it was to step away from academic stress and enjoy the warmth of community through such a fun-filled event. The booth also served as a platform for the BAGGS officers to demonstrate their commitment to enhancing student life through creative and inclusive activities.
Furthermore, the event demonstrated excellent collaboration and organizational effort among the BAGGS members. Weeks of preparation paid off as the team efficiently managed logistics, supplies, and crowd engagement. The smooth execution of the event reflects the group’s ability to work as a cohesive unit, fostering leadership, teamwork, and accountability among scholars. The event also raised funds that will contribute to future BAGGS projects and outreach programs, furthering their mission of service and excellence in the academic community.
In conclusion, the Food and Fun Booth for Valentine’s Day was a meaningful success, not only as a festive celebration but also as a platform for cultivating connection and positivity within the SLU community. The event upheld the objectives of fostering student engagement, inclusivity, and emotional wellness, while also strengthening the presence of BAGGS as a dynamic student organization. As participants walked away with smiles, memories, and sweet treats, it was clear that the true spirit of Valentine’s—love in all its forms—was joyfully celebrated through the collective efforts of everyone involved.
