The Saint Louis University (SLU) Center for Sports Development (CSD) coaches and student-athletes led a ‘plogging’ activity held after the Run for Hope run for a cause activity on 2 March 2025 along Burnham Lake Drive, Baguio City. Plogging combines jogging while picking up litter.
In support to the SLU’s advocacies toward promoting environmental sustainability as well as supporting the City Government of Baguio’s clean-up drive, the plogging initiative is now part of the CSD’s annual program, reflecting a holistic approach to sports and community development.

Plogging aligns with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By actively cleaning up litter around Burnham Lake, the student-athletes contributed to SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), specifically targeting the reduction of waste and the promotion of clean, safe public spaces. Further, this action supported SDG 13 (Climate Action) by minimizing environmental pollution and fostering a culture of responsible waste management.
