In the continued effort to enhance regional academic collaboration and elevate the quality of international education programs, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), in partnership with Saint Louis University (SLU), officially kicked off the ASEAN International Mobility for Students (AIMS) 2025: Capability Enhancement and Mid-Year Assessment of AIMS program on 24 April 2025, at the Ion Hotel Amber Hall. This event brought together key stakeholders and academic leaders to strengthen international mobility and cooperation under the AIMS Program.


The program opened with the resident chorale of SLU’s School of Engineering and Architecture, MuSiCEA, singing the national anthem and the invocation. Following this, the welcome remarks were given by Regional Office of CAR Education Supervisor II, Dr. Godfrey G. Mendoza as a representative of CHED CAR Regional Director, Atty. Septon A. Dela Cruz, CESO III; as well as Executive Assistant to the President of SLU, Dr. Joselito C. Gutierrez as a representative of SLU President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM.


Representatives from different institutions were also present: Ateneo De Manila University, Batangas State University, Central Bicol State University of Agriculture, Central Luzon State University, Central Mindanao University, De La Salle University, Lyceum of the Philippines – Batangas, MAPUA University, Mariano Marcos State University, Saint Louis University, St. Paul University Philippines, Tarlac Agricultural University, University of Mindanao, University of St. La Salle, University of the Philippines, Visayas State University, CHED International Affairs Service (IAS), Higher Education Development Fund Staff (HEDFS), Office of the Schools Division Superintendent (OSDS), and Administrative, Financial and Management Service (AFMS).


By co-hosting this significant event, SLU reinforced its role as a central figure in advancing international education in the Philippines, and upheld its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
