Effectively fostering health research activities and addressing regional health needs, the Cordillera Regional Health Research and Development Consortium (CRHRDC) where its member-agencies engaged in the discussion of evaluating and monitoring the consortium’s development efforts during the 2025 Governing Board Meeting.
The meeting was led by Atty. Septon A. Dela Cruz, Commission on Higher Education (CHED-CAR) Chair, Governing Board Chair, CRHRDC Regional Director; and Dr. Nancy A. Bantog, Governing Board Secretary, CRHRDC Regional Director, DOST-CAR, on 29 April 2025 at Alejandro Roces Hall, 1st Floor, Administrative Building, SLU Main Campus.
The consortium was also attended by representatives from the Department of Health – CAR (DOH-CAR) along with the higher education institutions: Saint Louis University, University of the Cordilleras, Benguet State University, and University of Baguio.





To ensure the consortium’s effective management, CRHRDC discussed approving the provisional agendas, reviewed the previous minutes of the meeting, and conversed on other matters that require improvement for the agency’s productive development. It caters to the display of the C.Y. 2024 financial and accomplishment report, approved work and financial plan for 2025, discussion of remedies for project staff compensation delays, and election of new officers in three months to maintain CRHRDC’s legacy as a health-allied organization in the Cordillera region.
The CRHRDC is governed by a Board and it is chaired by CHED, and co-chaired by DOH with the DOST as the secretariat, and 28 members. The consortium underscores the importance of regional research progress by bringing academics and institutions together to do research pertinent to the Cordillera region’s many health concerns.
Reaffirming its commitment to the United Nations Development Goals No. 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), 4 (Quality Education), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals), Saint Louis University (SLU) once again demonstrated that it is an institution that promotes educational growth via collaboration and engagement with top organizations, with a focus on research and development.
