The Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU) conducted an Onsite Program Accreditation in Saint Louis University from 8 to 9 May 2025.
PAASCU’s Preliminary Survey assessed the following School of Advanced Studies (SAS) programs: Doctor of Philosophy in Philosophy, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, Master of Science in Physical Education and Sports, Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing, Master of Science in Pharmacy, Master of Science in Medical Technology, and Master in Public Health.
During the two-day assessment, Interviews with SLU administration, SAS faculty and staff, students, alumni, and other stakeholders were conducted together with onsite class observations.

A closing ceremony that also served as the post-accreditation meeting between the SLU team and the survey team included the presentation of the preliminary results. The complete results will follow.
SLU President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, remarked, “Accreditation is very important in the life of an educational institution because that’s the only way we can benchmark our works and also improve continually.”

The conduct of the PAASCU accreditation is not only a reflection of the University’s dedication to quality education but also its continuous pursuit of development guided by PAASCU’s “four-fold definition of quality”. PAASCU’s framework serves as a comprehensive guide to evaluating the effectiveness and integrity of academic programs based on the following elements.
- Achievement of minimum standards based on learning outcomes.
- Achievement of evidenced excellence based on learning outcomes.
- Implementation of the vision, mission, and goals of the school; and
- Responsiveness to stakeholders.
The PAASCU visit serves as a reflection of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by supporting inclusive and equitable quality education and fostering lifelong learning for all, while also highlighting the need to enhance implementation efforts and strengthen global partnerships for sustainable development.
