On 10 May 2025 the Medical Outreach Missions Fellowship Initiative (MOMFI), in partnership with the Saint Louis University (SLU) Department of Pharmacy and under the guidance of SLU Community Extension and Outreach Program (CEOPO), delivered vital healthcare services to the residents of Barangay Happy Hollow in Baguio City. This outreach provided free medical consultations, essential medications, and medication counseling to residents aged 40 to 80 years, ensuring that preventive care and timely treatment reached those who need it most.

Driven by the dedication of MOMFI’s physician-volunteers, alumni pharmacist-MDs, and the enthusiasm of SLU student interns and researchers, the mission extended beyond medical assistance to foster holistic learning and human connection. Each patient encounter reinforced MOMFI’s core mission: to serve with compassion, uplift with knowledge, and heal with heart.
This initiative directly supports several Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, by providing accessible healthcare and promoting preventive practices. The involvement of academic partners advances SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning and community engagement. Furthermore, collaboration with local institutions exemplifies SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, strengthening collective impact in underserved communities. (Article and Photos by MOMFI)
