The new milestone was made possible through SLU’s partnership with The LASIK Surgery Clinic PH, bringing advanced refractive surgery services to Baguio and establishing the first facility of its kind in Northern Luzon.

The inauguration began with a ribbon cutting ceremony with SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD; SLU-SHMC Medical Director Dr. Danilo J. Flores Jr.; Senior Ophthalmologist at The LASiK Surgery Clinic, Dr. Raoul Henson; and eye specialist Dr. Andrew Angeles, who is also from The LASiK Surgery Clinic PH.
The blessing ceremony then commenced led by Fr. Sales and assisted by the Vice President for Mission and Identity Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako Ebumea, Parochial Vicar and SHMC Chaplain Rev. Fr. Emanuel Enjang Pranatal, CICM, and Rev. Fr. Yohanis “John” Salamal, CICM. Also among the CICM fathers present was Rev. Fr. Jessie M. Hechanova, CICM.
Additionally, the SLU administration also led the blessing ceremony of the Sobimed Pharmacy located adjacent to the LASiK Surgery Clinic, further enhancing healthcare accessibility within the SLU-SHMC complex.

In his prayer, Fr. Sales said, “Bless this SLU Sacred Heart Medical Center…make it a house of blessing and a center for love where physicians practice the art of healing wisely, where nurses and aides serve the sick with loving care, where the faithful come to visit Christ here and in the person of their brothers and sisters. Grant that, comforted in their illness, the patients will quickly regain their health and joyfully thank you for the favors they have received.”
