Proving its commitment to impactful innovation, Saint Louis University (SLU) has stepped up its ranking in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2025.
Announced on 10 July 2025, SLU has advanced to No. 137, from No. 162 in 2024, in the Global Top 400 Innovative Universities.The WURI further affirms the University’s developments as SLU made significant strides in the following categories:
- Rank 5: (A3) Industrial Application
- Rank 6: (B1) Visionary Leadership
- Rank 4: (B5) Funding for Sustainability
Through category A3. Industrial Application, WURI recognizes the innovative projects and programs that emphasize the application of industry-related education and research to generate tangible, real-world impacts, moving away from the conventional focus on academia-driven research and education.
B1. Visionary Leadership ranks exemplary leadership in developing and communicating a clear, inspiring vision for the institution. It emphasizes understanding the evolving landscape of higher education, anticipating future challenges, and fostering innovation to maintain the institution’s relevance and ensure its success.
Finally, for B5. Funding for Sustainability, the university is recognized for its innovative strategies in securing financial resources through the diversification of funding streams and adoption of new methods.
