In line with the observance of the 2025 National CPR Day, Saint Louis University (SLU), through the Health Services Unit–Medical Clinic (HSU), conducted a hands-on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training on 20 August 2025 at the SLU Prince Bernhard (PB) Gym, SLU Main Campus. The activity was held in two sessions—one in the morning for employees and another in the afternoon for students—aimed at promoting life-saving knowledge and skills among both groups at the University.
Anchored on the theme “A CPR Ready Philippines: Where Knowledge and Skills Save Lives,” the training underscored SLU’s continuing mission to educate and empower Louisians with vital health and safety skills. The program was held in collaboration with the Philippine Heart Association (PHA)-CAR chapter and the Philippine College of Occupational Medicine (PCOM) Baguio-Benguet Chapter.

The event emphasized the importance of hands-only CPR and immediate response in emergencies. It also served as a call to action, encouraging Louisians to become confident lifesavers in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
By spearheading this initiative, SLU reinforced its commitment to ensuring that its community is equipped with essential life-saving skills. This directly contributed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3: Good Health and Well-Being, 4: Quality Education, and 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, especially by fostering a culture of preparedness, resilience, and safety.
