Saint Louis University (SLU) conducted its Annual Management Review (AMR) for Academic Year (AY) 2024-2025 from 26 to 28 August 2025 at the Holiday Inn and Suites Batangas Lima Park, Lipa, Malvar, Batangas.
The three-day event brought together the SLU Management Team for an in-depth assessment of the past Academic Year’s achievements and challenges in relation to the different offices’ annual targets rooted in the pursuit of Missio et Excellentia.
Moreover, the AMR was a venue for an inspired look forward on the plans of the University’s various units and offices as they trail more meaningful activities.
In his keynote address during the AMR’s first day, University President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, expressed his gratitude to the Management Team. “First and foremost, let me extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you…I want to begin by recognizing a simple truth: none of what we have accomplished this past year would have been possible without your unwavering dedication, your quiet sacrifices, your sleepless nights, and your shared belief in the mission and vision of Saint Louis University,” he said.

Recognizing the importance of innovation, one of the key values of the University, Fr. Gilbert noted, “The world around us is changing— rapidly, relentlessly—and if we are to remain not just relevant but impactful, we must be open to rethinking how we do things. This means embracing innovation not for its own sake, but for the sake of serving our students better, deepening learning, and transforming society.” He then posed three challenges to the Management Team: to critically assess and reimagine course offerings, to plan long term, and to diversify and modernize course offerings.
Fr. Gilbert then concluded with an optimistic view toward the future as he quipped, “…our values, our people, our infrastructure-are not just assets; they are our anchors. In times of change, they will help us remain steady. And when we dream of what’s next, they remind us that we are not starting from scratch—we are building on solid ground. So let us go forward with renewed commitment, with openness to change, and with deep trust in our mission. The future is calling and I believe SLU is more than ready to answer.

Director of the Office of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance (OIDQA) Hector L. Martin next discussed the general program and expectations of the days ahead. Fun games that even united the team were then held.
