Saint Louis University (SLU) bagged first place in the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) AI for Developing Ethical and Applicable Solutions (AI-DEAS) for Impact 2025 Cordillera leg held on 28-29 August 2025 at Newtown Plaza Hotel, Baguio City.
The winning team, The Last Se7en, of the Computer Science – Computer Science & Computer Applications (CS-CA) Department of the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) also won the Visionary Innovators Award for their winning health-tech innovation idea called “Auscultate”.
As an AI-powered lung sound classification tool that brings fast and reliable respiratory diagnosis, Auscultate stood out for its real-world applicability, ethical responsiveness, social impact, originality, and clear presentation, which are the five pillars of DICT AIdeas’ judging criteria. By balancing technical feasibility with innovation and responsibility, Team The Last Se7en proved the strength of their solution as both practical and visionary.
Joining The Last Se7en in this milestone were Team LEONARDOS and Team SRV who also made it to the Top 10 finalists.



SLU extends its congratulations to mentors Josephine Dela Cruz and Beverly Ferrer for their invaluable guidance, as well as to Mr. Andrew Ducas, the Innovation and Transfer Technology Officer (ITTO) of the SLU Research, Innovation, & Sustainable Extension Center (RISE) SLU for steadfast support.
This achievement highlights SLU’s commitment to developing innovators who create solutions that are not only technologically sound but also socially meaningful.
