Saint Louis University (SLU), through the Office of Institutional Development and Quality Assurance (OIDQA), soft-launched its new document management system called “Paper Trail” on 17 September 2025. The event took place at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, Diego Silang Building, SLU Main Campus, with the participation of heads of offices and unit document controllers.
Mr. Hector L. Martin, Director of OIDQA, welcomed the attendees and opened the presentation of Paper Trail, highlighting its significance in streamlining document management processes across SLU.
Kasima Rose M. Mendoza of OIDQA delivered a detailed walkthrough of the system’s functionalities. Still a work in progress, the Paper Trail has the capacity to enable real-time document processing in adherence to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 21001 standard, which sets the requirements for an Educational Organization Management System (EOMS).

Subsequently, Information Systems and Technology Services Department (ISTSD) Director, Cecilia Mercado, PhD, presented the integration of the Annual Faculty Activity Report (AFAR) data encoding system into the faculty portal, a move that further enhances faculty data management and reporting efficiency.

The launch of Paper Trail and the update to the faculty portal signify SLU’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance and operational excellence, ensuring that document handling aligns with international standards and supports the university’s mission for effective educational management.
