Saint Louis University (SLU) has taken a significant step in its commitment to sustainability by becoming one of the signatories of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Accord in May 2025.
On 24 September 2025, the University’s SDG Accord Case Study titled, “Suppliers Summit 2025: Saint Louis University strengthens partnerships for sustainability” was published on the official website of Sustainability Exchange delivered by the Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges Sustainability Exchange (EAUC).
Sustainability Exchange is a leading platform for sustainability in tertiary education, sharing knowledge from top sustainable development and education organizations. Publishing on this platform shows SLU’s active role in a global community advancing sustainability in higher education, aligning it with top institutions and enhancing its credibility and visibility in sustainability efforts. SLU’s case study on the 2025 Suppliers Summit held on 6 August 2025 affirms such efforts.
Themed “Strengthening Corporate Social Responsibility through Sustainable Development Goals,” the Suppliers Summit was one of the initiatives under the Sustainable Advocacies through the Vendor-Supplier Engagement (SAVE) Program. The event gathered suppliers, local schools, faculty and student leaders, raising awareness of the SDGs and promoting the use of sustainable practices.
Beyond publishing the report, SLU is preparing to launch its 2025-2028 three-year SDG plan, a key milestone in its sustainability journey. The plan targets five focus areas—People, Planet, Prosperity, Peace, and Partnership—aligned with seven core SDGs: No Poverty (SDG 1), Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Climate Action (SDG 13), Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).
Through meaningful partnerships and purposeful initiatives, SLU continues to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals rooted in its commitment to nurturing responsible and transformative education that serves both the local community and the global society.
