On 20 October 2025, Saint Louis University (SLU) Department of Accountancy held a meaningful event dedicated to the October 2025 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountant (LECPA) examinees. The send-off mass and final coaching were organized in collaboration with the SLU Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA). They provided a holistic experience that supported the participants’ academic, emotional, and spiritual preparation.
The day began with the final coaching session at Perfecto AVR (P700). In her opening remarks, Ma’am Lorie Ann Q. Barry, CPA, PhD, Department Head of Accountancy, encouraged the examinees to remain steadfast in their faith and to trust the process, setting a tone of hope and determination for the rest of the program. Following her message, faculty members from the Department of Accountancy shared motivational insights and academic guidance on board exam subjects. These included Atty. Rosemarie Areno, CPA; Sir Joseph R. Mendoza, CPA, MBA; Ma’am Ma. Jennifer R. Marquez, MSC, CPA; Sir Jordan M. Tangonan, CFA, CFMA, CIAS, CHRP®, MBA; Ma’am Bernadette Adelaida M. Cope, CPA, MBA; Ma’am Bernadette C. Mendoza, CPA; and Sir Marc Oliver B. Castañeda, CPA, PhD. Their presence and expertise helped reinforce the examinees’ confidence and readiness.
As the session drew to a close, Ma’am Bernadette Adelaida M. Cope, CPA, MBA, offered her final message, emphasizing the importance of gratitude, prayer, and surrendering one’s journey to the Lord. Her words served as a gentle reminder that success is not only measured by knowledge but also by humility and faith. Later in the afternoon, the community gathered at Saint Aloysius Gonzaga Parish, SLU Main Campus for the send-off mass, presided over by Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM. Families, friends, mentors, and members of the Louisian community came together in prayer, offering spiritual support and encouragement to the examinees. The mass provided a moment of reflection and unity, allowing the participants to find peace and strength as they prepared for the licensure examination.
This event embodied the CICM’s Advocacy of Peace and Integrity of Creation by fostering a nurturing and spiritually grounded environment. It also aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through the integration of academic coaching and spiritual formation, the program promoted holistic
development and ethical leadership.
With Saint Louis University examinees assigned across PRC-CAR, Baguio Palace Hotel, and Skyrise Hotel, the send-off mass and final coaching stood as a testament to SLU’s commitment to forming competent, compassionate, and value-driven professionals. More than just a preparatory activity, it celebrated community, faith, and excellence—an affirmation that the Louisian spirit continues to guide and uplift those called to serve.
