The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Saint Louis University (JPIA-SLU) once again rose to the national stage as John Trif Pacho represented the organization in the prestigious National Accounting Quiz Showdown (NAQDown) held on 19 October 2025, at the SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. (SGV) Office in Makati City.
Demonstrating remarkable mastery and determination, Pacho secured 13th place out of 100 participants in the North Luzon Hub, a testament to his hard work and academic excellence. His journey to the national level began when he placed 5th in the Regional Accounting Quiz Showdown (RAQDown), earning him a spot among the country’s brightest and most promising accounting students.
Guided by the theme “The Elemental Ascent: A Summit of Mastery,” NAQDown 2025 tested participants through rigorous and conceptually demanding rounds that required precision, quick thinking, and a deep understanding of core accounting principles.
Carrying the banner of JPIA-SLU with pride and purpose, Pacho’s participation reflected the organization’s enduring commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, by promoting academic excellence and fostering national-level exposure among accountancy students. His achievement also embodied the CICM’s advocacy for the Integrity of Creation, as it exemplified discipline, ethical conduct, and intellectual growth — values at the heart of holistic formation at Saint Louis University.
