Four third-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) proudly represented the Philippines in the recently concluded Next Gen Thailand Experience 2025, held from 14-19 October 2025, in Bangkok, Thailand.

This international experience was part of the team’s recognition as the winners of the Next Gen Program, a collegiate competition organized by WP/Gaming (Well-Played in Gaming) Inc. in partnership with Converge ICT Solutions Inc. The program celebrates innovation, creativity, and advocacy in the esports and gaming industry, providing students with a platform to develop initiatives that can transform the future of gaming.
Representing SLU and the country were Clarenz William Balagot, Anjelo Esperanzate, Alyson Gabriel Flores, and Kristelle Maye Tenorio — all from the BSIT program. Their project, “Care.GG,” stood out during the national competition for its advocacy-driven concept, which focused on protecting and empowering Filipino esports players through a digital platform offering support for player rights, mental health resources, legal guidance, and mentorship programs.
During their stay in Bangkok, the SLU student ambassadors participated in a series of activities designed to foster collaboration and innovation between Filipino and Thai youth. They participated in the WP/Connect Workshop, which brought together students, developers, and creators from both countries to share ideas and explore the evolving world of esports and gaming technology.
The participants also had the opportunity to attend the Thailand Game Show 2025, one of Asia’s premier gaming and esports conventions, where they engaged with industry leaders, developers, and international innovators, gaining valuable insights into the global gaming landscape and future career opportunities in technology and digital entertainment.
Affirming the CICM advocacy of dialogue, the participation of the SLU BSIT students in this international event marks a significant milestone for both the University and the Philippine esports community. Their success demonstrates the technical competence, creativity, and global readiness of Louisian students to take on emerging industries such as esports and digital innovation.

Through this achievement, Saint Louis University reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and global engagement, nurturing future leaders who utilize technology to create a meaningful impact as aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education), 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
SLU extends its heartfelt congratulations to Clarenz William Balagot, Anjelo Esperanzate, Alyson Gabriel Flores, and Kristelle Maye Tenorio for their exemplary representation of both the University and the Philippines on the international stage.
