The International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers, Inc. (IASPER) hosted a transformative training-workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Integrated Research Advising and Paneling at Acacia Hotel Bacolod, Bacolod City from 9 to 11 October 2025 at Acacia Hotel Bacolod, Bacolod City. The event gathered scholars and educators from across the country to explore the evolving landscape of research mentorship, paneling, and publication ethics in the age of artificial intelligence.

Saint Louis University (SLU) was represented by Freda Paulino, PhD, Prof. Carmelita Caramto, and Mr. Nikky S. Garo. Their active participation underscored SLU’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, ethical research, and innovation.
The three-day event was anchored on five core objectives: understanding recent trends in thesis advising, formulating robust policies for research mentorship, acquiring non-directive paneling techniques, applying AI technologies in research processes, and establishing mechanisms for international collaboration. Each session was designed to equip participants with practical tools and ethical frameworks for integrating AI into academic advising and peer review.

In a rapidly evolving academic landscape, initiatives like IASPER’s training-workshop serve as essential platforms for educators to adapt, lead, and innovate. With SLU at the forefront, the future of research advising and paneling is poised to be technologically advanced, ethically grounded, and globally connected.
More than a seminar, the training-workshop reaffirmed the University’s mission to develop ethical, competent, and globally responsive educators through intellectually enriching and professionally empowering engagements.
The training clearly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) by strengthening educators’ pedagogical and advisory capacities. It also advanced SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through the responsible integration of AI in academic systems, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting international collaboration in research paneling.
