Jian Daniel Rariza (BSCE 1) of Saint Louis University’s School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) clinched the title of Regional Champion at the 29th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Championships held on 7 November 2025 at Baguio Central University, Baguio City. Representing SLU alongside him was Ms. Dalean Villanueva (BSGE 1), who also delivered a strong performance. Both students were guided by their coach, Mr. Clarenz Magsakay from the Mathematics Department.

In a tight race during the final round battled against representatives from the University of the Philippines (UP) Baguio and the University of the Cordilleras (US), Mr. Rariza held on to his lead, answering challenging questions along the way.
As Regional Champions, SLU, through Mr. Jian Rariza, will represent CAR in the PSQ National Finals scheduled on 4 December 2025 .
The PSQ is an annual national statistics competition for freshmen students. SLU holds the distinction of being the most successful institution from the Cordilleras across its 29 editions spanning more than 30 years. The university is also the second most successful institution in the competition’s history, winning four National Championships to date.
This achievement is in alignment with the Laudato Si Goals (LSG) of Community Resilience and Empowerment and the UN Sustainable Development Goal #4 for Quality Education by promoting the value of academic excellence through the importance of Statistics to Louisian students.
Furthermore, our continued participation in the annual PSQ reflects the CICM Advocacy of Justice and Peace, as well as the CEAP JEEPGY goal of Engaged Citizenship and Youth Empowerment by supporting our students in representing the university in competitions where they can show their capabilities and demonstrate their knowledge and competency with other members of the youth that are participating.
