Saint Louis University (SLU) has been officially welcomed as an institutional member of the ASEAN University Network – Gender Justice and Inclusion (AUN-GJI). The information was sent via correspondence by AUN-GJI to the Office of the University President on 16 November 2025.
AUN-GJI is a thematic network dedicated to challenging and eliminating gender discrimination within academic institutions, promoting gender equality, equity, and inclusion, and empowering diverse individuals to thrive in academia. The network also aims to foster understanding, awareness, research, and action on gender-related issues to drive positive change in both academia and society.
As a member of AUN-GJI, SLU will have access to various valuable resources, participate actively in events and initiatives.
Through the leadership directions of the SLU President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD, this membership signifies SLU’s commitment to advancing gender justice and inclusion in higher education and its active role in regional collaborative efforts in these areas.
The university looks forward to engaging with this regional network to promote an equitable and inclusive academic environment, aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 5 (Gender Equality) and CICM’s Advocacy of Justice, Peace, and Dialogue. This partnership reflects SLU’s commitment to social responsibility, holistic education, and community empowerment.
