Saint Louis University (SLUS) achieved a milestone on 24 November 2025 as the Department of Accountancy of the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS), in partnership with the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), held the university’s first-ever Management Accounting Day at the Audio-Visual Room, SLU Maryheights Campus. Guided by the theme “Imagine the Future: Building Brilliance Beyond Boundaries,” the celebration gathered hundreds of BS Management Accounting and BS Accountancy students who desire to strengthen their professional paths.

The day opened with a seminar led by Insights Financial Review Services, Inc., whose partnership made the event deeply meaningful. Edgardo Domingo Jr., Team Leader of the International Certification Programme, conducted an Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Orientation that helped students understand the opportunities that come with earning the CMA credential. His message encouraged the audience to envision themselves stepping onto the global stage with competence and confidence.
This was followed by a session by Dr. Mark Moises A. Espelita, CPA, CMA (U.S.) on “Rising Beyond Limits: CMA Certification.” Through his experience and insight, he motivated students to challenge their limitations and recognize that excellence begins with the courage to take the first step.

In the afternoon, the Management Accounting Quiz Bowl took place. From 206 participants during the elimination round, only 50 advanced to the finals—an impressive reflection of their skill and determination. Emerging at the top were John Dominic P. Reyes in first place, followed by Katerine Mari A. As-il in second and Nathaniel Irysh S. Alaba in third. Completing the top ranks were Justine Roselle R. Demot, Nicole Zaine B. Mendoza, Prince Dan Michael T. Lumogdang, Lianne Ashley Gamido, Kristine Joy Bati, Krisha Mae Silen, and Rab Ric Juan. These finalists received special discounts for Insights’ CMA Review Program, while all participants were also granted discounts in recognition of their dedication and effort.

More than a program, the celebration embodied SLU’s commitment to the CICM advocacy of Integrity of Creation, shaping students into responsible, ethical, and purpose-driven professionals. By providing access to high-quality educational experiences and professional guidance, the event supported United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), while the collaboration among the Department of Accountancy, JPIA, and Insights Financial Review Services, Inc. reflected Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), highlighting the power of strong educational partnerships.
