In the spirit of gratitude and togetherness, Saint Louis University (SLU) conducted a series of blessing ceremonies on 9 January 2026 for new spaces and facilities that elevate work, learning, and collaboration. These now modernized areas include the Office for Legal Affairs (OLA), the University Information Office (UIO) and Studio, the School of Law Smart Classroom, and the Men’s Dormitory of the Student Residence Halls.
Led by SLU President Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD along with Rev. Fr. Emanuel Enjang Pranatal, CICM, the SLU Administration, and the partner-contractors, the first blessing unveiled OLA, UIO and the University Studio located on the first floor of the Administrative Center, J. Burgos Building, SLU Main Campus.

The thoughtful renovation of OLA and UIO modernized the office space creating dedicated zones that prioritize consultative support, productivity, and team collaboration to better accommodate the Lousian community’s needs.

An all-in-one studio serves as a versatile, multi-functional space designed to handle audio production, video filming, and specialized photography in one location. The fully air-conditioned and soundproof studio features adaptable equipment setups such as mics for audio, ceiling-mounted studio lights, and backdrops for photos, that enable seamless transitions between media types.

Following this was the blessing of the SOL Smart Classroom – the first of its kind in Baguio City – housed at the Moot Court Room on the fifth floor of the Diego Silang Building, SLU Main Campus. In line with the SOL’s program dubbed as “Okairi” (welcome home), this facility further expands the reach of SLU’s legal education while it enhances active engagement through technology and collaborative methods, using tools like interactive whiteboards, multimedia, among others.

Wrapping up the ceremonies was the blessing of the Men’s Dormitory in the Student Residence Halls at the Fr. Alberto Van Overbeke Student Center. The dorm has completed its first phase of development, including interior and exterior repainting and renovation. This marks a preview of the next phases that will further foster a supportive, focused environment for residents that enhances academic performance and personal well-being.

Attended by the heads of offices from the different clusters, the blessing signifies unity in the University’s shared goals rooted in Missio et Excellentia.
Launching the year with new shared spaces affirms SLU’s high regard for the Louisian staff and students, continuously providing quality education and enhanced services in line with United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 4 (Quality Education) and 17 (Partnership for the Goals).
