Under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD—Private Education Assistance Committee – Cordillera Administrative Region (PEAC-CAR) Regional Program Director and Saint Louis University President—and DepEd-CAR Regional Director Estela L. Carino, the PEAC-CAR Regional Secretariat hosted the first in-person Kumustahan for 2026 on January 12 at Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, Diego Silang Building, SLU Main Campus.
The event’s objectives were to:
- Provide updates to all Education Service Contracting (ESC) and Senior High School Voucher Program (SHSVP) participating schools;
- Discuss strategies to ensure delivery of quality basic education; and
- Review processing requirements for the Teachers’ Salary Subsidy (TSS) program.
The Kumustahan was deemed a success because of the cooperation and participation of 181 private school principals and registrars/encoders from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The event is aligned with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnership for the Goals) and the CICM Advocacy of Dialogue. (Article by J.Gutierrez | Photos by UIO)
