The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Saint Louis University Chapter (JPIA–SLU) represented Saint Louis University (SLU) during the academic competitions of the 24th Regional Mid-Year Convention (RMYC). Themed “Salindaya: Bloom in the Violet Grace, Soar Beyond Time and Space,” the event was held on 16 to 18 January 2026 at Crown Legacy Hotel, Baguio City.
Organized by the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants Region 1 and Cordillera Administrative Region (NFJPIA-R1CAR), the convention gathered accountancy students from various institutions across the region, serving as a dynamic venue for intellectual exchange, academic excellence, and professional growth. The competitions challenged participants to demonstrate mastery of accounting concepts, critical thinking, teamwork, and ethical judgment under competitive conditions.
The JPIA–SLU team emerged as Champion in the Tax Case Study Competition, composed of Ashanna Nicole G. Bautista, Khryssha Mae M. Julian, John Trif L. Pacho, Jecy Mae Padre, and Valerie Joy C. Sagayo, who was also recognized as Best Presenter. Their collective performance exemplified synergy, analytical depth, and effective communication demonstrating that excellence flourishes when individuals work toward a shared purpose. Supporting the chapter’s strong presence were Prince Dan Michael T. Lumogdang, John Dominic P. Reyes, and Neil Joshua T. Tigas, who likewise embodied the values and ideals of Salindaya throughout the convention.

JPIA–SLU delegates rose to the challenge, reflecting the Louisian spirit of excellence and discipline. In the Regional Council Academic Tilt, John Trif L. Pacho secured 4th Runner-Up in the Ultimate JPIA Cup, while Airixzel L. Rillera achieved 5th Runner-Up in CAT CUP 4 (Auditing).

Participation in the 24th RMYC strongly reflected JPIA–SLU’s commitment to the CICM advocacy of Integrity of Creation, which emphasizes responsible action, ethical leadership, and the pursuit of excellence for the common good. The event also aligned with key Sustainable Development Goals Quality Education (SDG 4) by fostering academic enrichment and lifelong learning; Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions (SDG 16) by promoting integrity, fairness, and accountability in academic competition; and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17) by strengthening collaboration among student organizations, educational institutions, and professional networks. Through this meaningful engagement, JPIA–SLU reaffirmed its mission to cultivate competent, ethical, and socially responsible future Certified Public Accountants who are prepared to bloom fully and soar beyond time and space in service of the profession and society.
