The Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) Data Protection Office (DPO) Cluster successfully held its DPO Leadership Management Program on 19-20 February 2026 at the Msgr. Charles Vath Library Building, Saint Louis University (SLU) Main Campus, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening institutional capability in data privacy.
The participants included Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and compliance officers on Privacy from Saint Louis College- Cebu, Saint Louis College- San Fernando, Saint Mary’s University, University of Saint Louis- Tuguegarao and SLU. The said training was facilitated by Mr. Engels Antonio, Philippine National Police (PNP) National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (NAGPTD) Auditor and Ms. Magie Antonio, the Asia Pacific Data Privacy Organization Country Head.

The two-day program focused on enhancing leadership competencies of DPOs while deepening understanding of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) frameworks aligned with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) privacy principles. Participants engaged in collaborative discussions designed to strengthen accountability, risk management strategies, and institutional data governance structures.

Through this initiative, the CICM DPO Cluster continues to promote a proactive and unified approach to data privacy, ensuring that institutions remain compliant, resilient, and responsive to evolving regulatory demands. This activity also supports the STEALTH (Systems and Technologies for Ethical Accountability, Leadership, Transparency, and Harmony) SDG Program of the Data Protection Office.
