On 28 March 2026, the Saint Louis University Basic Education School (SLU BEdS) Principal, Mr. Alejandro Pablico, delivered a meaningful parenting talk at St. Padre Pio Parish, Beckel, La Trinidad that emphasized the shared responsibility of families and schools in nurturing holistic student development. The session highlighted the importance of values formation, open communication, and active parental involvement in guiding children through academic and personal challenges.

The talk was aligned with the call-to-action advocacy of the University President, Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, PhD and the Vice President for Mission and Identity, Rev. Fr. Emery Mwako Ebumea, CICM, who continues to promote a mission-centered education grounded in compassion, social responsibility, and faith. Grounded in the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (CICM) advocacies, the initiative reflects a commitment to integral human development, preferential option for the poor, and the formation of communities that uphold justice, peace, and the integrity of creation.

Furthermore, the parenting talk supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, by strengthening the role of parents as partners in ensuring inclusive, equitable, and values-oriented learning environments. By empowering families, the program contributes to developing lifelong learners and responsible citizens.
In partnership with St. Padre Pio Parish, through the able shepherding of Rev. Fr. Elgar Bautista, the initiative further strengthened the link between SLU and the Catholic Church, fostering a supportive environment for both students and their families. This collaborative effort reflects a unified commitment to holistic formation (intellectual, emotional, and spiritual) responding to the needs of the times with a shared sense of purpose and action.
