In a pivotal step toward transforming contemporary education, academic leaders and practitioners gathered for “The Portrait of a Future-ready Graduate Workshop: Shaping Graduate with the Mindsets, Skills, and Values to Thrive in a Changing World.” Organized through the leadership of Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM, University President of Saint Louis University (SLU), the initiative was held last 03 August 2026 at Fr Francis Gevers Hall, SLU Main Campus, in partnership with the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines–Cordillera Administrative Region (CEAP-CAR) and the Private Education Assistance Committee–Cordillera Administrative Region (PEAC-CAR). The event established a collaborative space to address the evolving demands placed on modern academic institutions and their students.
The workshop was facilitated by education and industry experts Christie Pang and Jeng Yee Chia of Lirvana Labs, alongside Dr. Bryce Fabro from the Emotional Reset Center based in the USA. Together, they introduced an emerging global framework that integrates holistic formation, mental well-being, AI readiness, character development, and career preparedness into one coherent vision of what every graduate should become. This comprehensive strategy seeks to guide schools in aligning their educational approaches with both local realities and global developments.
A key highlight of the program was its unique combination of AI innovation and mental wellness. By blending technological foresight with psychological groundedness, the workshop provided actionable perspectives ensuring that schools prepare not only technologically capable graduates, but also emotionally healthy and purpose-driven young people. Facilitators emphasized that technical proficiency must be paired with strong emotional resilience and ethical clarity to truly thrive in an automated world.
By equipping participating educators with strategic insights and holistic frameworks, the initiative reinforces the region’s commitment to progressive academic formation. As schools begin integrating these forward-thinking methodologies into their institutional benchmarks, the workshop sets a meaningful precedent for regional education. Ultimately, the endeavor paves the way for a new generation of learners who possess the technological fluency, moral grounding, and psychological strength needed to navigate an unpredictable future.
