SLU Philosophy Department holds last series of extension program 

Marking the end of its extension programs series, the Department of Philosophy of the Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), in collaboration with the Department of Religion, conducted a lecture titled “Pedagogy of the Other: Emmanuel Levinas and the Ethics of Interfaith Dialogue in Religiously Plural World” held at the Saint Xavier Seminary, Baguio City on 26 November 2025. 

SLU NEOLOUPHIS conducts workshop on meaningful research

The New Louisian Philosophical Society (NEOLOUPHIS) continues to soar higher, louder, wiser, and more philosophical through its newly added session as part of the Research Workshop and Discourse Series held on November 18, 2025. In a meaningful collaboration between the University Libraries (UNL) and American Corner Baguio (AC Baguio), the third session of the series offered a profound exploration of the “what” and “why” of meaningful research. This workshop, a major initiative under Project Innovation, featured two respected speakers in the field of research. In addition, American Corner Baguio provided insights on how to pursue studies abroad.

Cultivating Minds, Empowering Resilience: SLU PEEP holds lecture series on Experiential Philosophy for Sustainable Futures

The Philosophy Enrichment Extension Program (PEEP) of the Philosophy Department at Saint Louis University (SLU) successfully conducted its near-to-end Lecture Series on 19 November 2025. The event welcomed its target participants—seminarians from Saint Francis Xavier Seminary—who visited SLU to engage in an enriching academic exchange. The seminarians attended a two-lecture series delivered by two distinguished faculty experts from the Department of Philosophy. These lectures provided not only philosophical insights but also opportunities for dialogue, reflection, and intellectual growth. 

Learning in Harmony: SLU–Neolouphis Philosophy Department conducts Outreach at Lourdes Subdivision Extension Barangay

The Saint Louis University (SLU)– New Louisian Philosophical Society (NEOLOUPHIS) of the Philosophy Department of the School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) was featured and recognized on the official Facebook page of Barangay Lourdes Extension Subdivision, Baguio City for the children’s music and play teaching/tutorial outreach activity conducted on 15 November 2025. The event held was part of the organization’s Project Dunong – an outreach initiative under Project Pilosopo Kuwago that aims to enrich the minds of the youth.

Creative Writing Workshop marks the first collaboration of STELA student organizations

The School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) witnessed a milestone yesterday with the first-ever collaboration of various student organizations in a Creative Writing workshop. Spearheaded by the New Louisian Philosophical Society (NEOLOUPHIS) through Project Innovation. The event was held in partnership with the University Library and the American Corner Baguio, alongside the Communication Society (ComSoc), Political Science Academic Society (POSAS), and the Prime Movers Society (PRIMOSO).

Power with Purpose: SLU cultivates Ethical Governance, Accountability through Kaizen

The Philosophy Department of Saint Louis University’s (SLU) School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA), in partnership with the New Louisian Philosophical Society (NEOLOUPHIS), organized a lecture-workshop titled “Power and Accountability: How the Government Uses Its Power and Why Honesty Matters” on 29 October 2025 at Saint Francis Xavier Orientation Seminary, Baguio City.

SLU Department of Philosophy launches QUEER Project and Project Innovation

In September 2025, the New Louisian Philosophical Society (NEOLOUPHIS), the student organization of the Department of Philosophy under the Saint Louis University (SLU) School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) formally launched its two new initiatives: “QUEER Project”—an acronym for Quality, Undergraduate, Engaged, Exploratory Research–  and “Project Innovation”.

On 21 October 2025, the New Louisian Philosophical Society(NEOLOUPHIS), the co-curricular organization of the Philosophy Department of Saint Louis University’s (SLU) School of Teacher Education and Liberal Arts (STELA) conducted a workshop seminar in collaboration with the SLU Center for Counseling and Wellness (CCW) with the theme, “Empowering Student Leaders: A Workshop on Building Skills for Supporting Vulnerable Populations.”
