SLU BSIT students earn Top 10 spot at BPI-DOST Innovation Awards 2025 with Environmental Technology Solution

A group of 4th-year Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students from the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) has earned a prestigious Top 10 finalist spot in the BPI-DOST Innovation Awards 2025 held on 4 December 2025 at the Edsa Shangri-La, Manila, Philippines for their groundbreaking project, Cordimap: Hybrid Machine and Deep Learning-Based Web Application for Interactive Mapping of Land Cover and Water Balance in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).

Invited by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Saint Louis University (SLU) was represented by Richel Lamadrid, PhD, Director of the Research, Innovation, and Sustainable Extension (RISE) Center; Ms. Ma. Clarissa Mabitazan and Ms. Araceli Tambol, faculty members of the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS); and Engr. Maria Corazon Ocampo and Engr. Patrick Putiyon, faculty members of the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA).

SLU BS Accountancy conducts first Management Accounting Day 

Saint Louis University (SLUS) achieved a milestone on 24 November 2025 as the Department of Accountancy of the School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS), in partnership with the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA), held the university’s first-ever Management Accounting Day at the Audio-Visual Room, SLU Maryheights Campus.  Guided by the theme “Imagine the Future: Building Brilliance Beyond Boundaries,” the celebration gathered hundreds of BS Management Accounting and BS Accountancy students who desire to strengthen their professional paths.

JPIA-SLU members participate in Deloitte Tax Challenge 2026

The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Saint Louis University Chapter (JPIA-SLU) participated in the Deloitte Tax Challenge 2026, an international competition designed to enhance students’ knowledge of taxation and expose them to real-world issues and trends. The event was held virtually, with the submission of entries on 30 September 2025, and the national finals scheduled for October 2025. Representing SLU were four BS Accountancy 4 students: Ashanna Nicole G. Bautista, Airixzel L. Rillera, Jecy Mae Padre, and Neil Joshua T. Tigas.

SLU reclaims PSQ Regional Crown, advances to December National Finals

Jian Daniel Rariza (BSCE 1) of Saint Louis University’s School of Accountancy, Management, Computing and Information Studies (SAMCIS) clinched the title of Regional Champion at the 29th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) Championships held on 7 November 2025 at Baguio Central University, Baguio City. Representing SLU alongside him was Ms. Dalean Villanueva (BSGE 1), who also delivered a strong performance. Both students were guided by their coach, Mr. Clarenz Magsakay from the Mathematics Department.
