From Research to Impact: SLU participates in 1st National IMPACT Conference and 9th TBI Summit 2025

The inaugural National IP Management Program for Academic Institutions Commercializing Technologies (IMPACT) Conference, organized by the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEETRD) and branded as SALIKSYNC, gathered innovators, educators, researchers, and policymakers nationwide to advance knowledge and technology transfer efforts in the Philippines. Held on November 5-6, 2025, in Bacolod City, the conference centered on the theme “From IMPACT to NXT Horizons: Surging the Next Wave of Knowledge and Technology Transfer.” It highlighted the vital need to move research beyond academic publication toward creating meaningful, tangible benefits for communities, industries, and society at large.

Advancing Ethical Research Through AI: SLU faculty participate in IASPER Training-Workshop in Bacolod City

The International Association of Scholarly Publishers, Editors and Reviewers, Inc. (IASPER) hosted a transformative training-workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI)-Integrated Research Advising and Paneling at Acacia Hotel Bacolod, Bacolod City from 9 to 11 October 2025 at Acacia Hotel Bacolod, Bacolod City. The event gathered scholars and educators from across the country to explore the evolving landscape of research mentorship, paneling, and publication ethics in the age of artificial intelligence.

Empowering Extension Leadership: SLU RISE Center joins Strategic Training on Impact Assessment and Science Communication

To strengthen institutional research and extension leadership, Laarni Natividad, PhD and Jeramie Molino, PhD of the Saint Louis University Research, Innovation, & Sustainable Extension (RISE) Center participated in two intensive training sessions held on 24-25 September and 16-17 October 2025, at ATI-CAR, Benguet State University Compound, La Trinidad, Benguet.

SLU hosts dialogue on Smart Urban Mobility Project

Saint Louis University (SLU) hosted a dialogue with Louisian students and Metro Pacific Tollways (MPT) on 26 August 2025, at the Fr. Francis Gevers Hall, SLU Main Campus, in line with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Interim Negotiation Committee of the City Government of Baguio’s commitment to strengthen citizen and youth participation in government processes. The dialogue focused on the proposed Smart Urban Mobility Project (SUM Project), aiming to address the city’s persistent traffic and mobility challenges.

From Classroom to Community: Louisian Industrial Engineering Research Team Contributes to Policy Reform in a Barangay’s Data Management System

On April 26, 2025, an Industrial Engineering research team from the Saint Louis University School of Engineering and Architecture led by faculty research promoter Engr. Geraldine G. Nerona, and student researchers Lawrence Konrad A. Quizon, Jheanelyne Kaye I. Racuya, Sydney Jade G. Ortiz, Princess Jun O. Abata, Jessica Kate B. Corpuz, Charlize Nicole B. Flores, Shairaly M. Luna, Hannah Lee P. Matchoc, Nathaniel D. Modesto, presented and turned over the two data management systems which were the output of their capstone project entitled “Innovating a Barangay’s Data Management System and Enhancing Students’ Design Skills Through Application of Information Systems Solutions” to Barangay Legarda-Burnham-Kisad officials. The initiative aimed to provide the barangay with innovative systems that would improve data accuracy, efficiency, and accessibility while also supporting better governance.
