After spending more than two academic years in virtual classes due to the pandemic, Saint Louis University (SLU) finally transitioned to in-person learning. On 15 August 2022, the Guidance Center and student bodies set up a Mental Health Booth at the Diego Silang Lobby and Seraphin Devesse Lobby to welcome Louisian students.
The COVID-19 pandemic has prohibited face-to-face classes which significantly affected the education sector including the Louisian community. Hence, SLU anticipated feelings of excitement and anxiety from the students for heading back to school. The university was among the few universities that fully opened for in-person classes as the pandemic winds down.
The booth aims to guide the students in the transition process of online to face-to-face learning and make it more manageable. In support of the CICM advocacy for “Peace,” the Mental Health booth provided materials such as infographics regarding the Guidance Center’s different services to promote students’ holistic development.
