In line with the second of the three-point agenda of Rev. Fr. Gilbert B. Sales, CICM on sustaining excellence and quality in Catholic education, it is empirical that all programs, activities, and curriculum from the Basic Education to the Graduate School meet, achieve, and practice international standards.
The Office of the Institutional Development and Quality Assurance led by Mr. Hector Martin organized a four-part appreciation meeting on international rankings and ratings, specifically on Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), World Universities with Real Impact (WURI), and The Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings.
The first session was held last July 13, 2022 for the units heads and unit representatives. This is to ensure that every unit understands the major steps the university will undergo in terms of rankings and ratings. The second session was designed for the NSTP and Religion departments. This was held to ensure that courses in the said departments are aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 of the United Nations.
The third session convened the Basic Education School (BEdS) last September 19, the university recognizes the activities and programs organized by them thus making their efforts be visible in the submissions of SLU. Finally, the biggest delegation was a workshop with the unit heads, department heads and graduate program coordinators. This was centered on collecting data and evidences specifically on the activities they conducted that are aligned with the matrices and criteria of WURI Rankings and THE Impact Rankings.
These meetings ensure that all university units are synchronized and synergized in making SLU be more internationally visible and at par with international standards. This is also to sustain the BRAND OF EXCELLENCE that is SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY!
